According to the method, a hollow cavity (5) that has at least an orifice (4) is connected to a vacuum pump (3), while any other orifices (7,8) are closed off. Pressure variations within the cavity are measured for the duration of the test. Typically test items are pumped down to 10,000 Pascals.
