The method for testing for the correct seating of a sealing surface involves applying the test head (2) of a reduced pressure measurement device to the sealing surface (27') so that its suction channels (32)- are in contact with the surface. An under-pressure is produced in the connection between the suction channels and a vacuum pump depending on the sealing effect of the surface with respect to the channels. The underpressure is measured and compared with a desired value. USE/ADVANTAGE - For. E.g. testing seals in vehicle disc brakes. Sealing rings of any height can be measured.
