The method involves finding a deformation to be applied to a video image, and associating a movement value representing the deformation, to each pixel of the image. The image signal is sampled to an average frequency which is multiple of the pixel frequency, by a buffer (11). The sample numbers for each pixel which is a function of the values associated to that pixel and its neighbor pixel following/preceding it are varied. An independent claim is also included for a video signal processing device.
