PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use cathepsin D or cathepsin E as a tumor marker.;SOLUTION: Growth proliferation and metastaticity (malignancy) of a tumor cell are determined by using cathepsin E as a tumor marker for tumors such as epidermoid cancer and measuring cathepsin E in serum. The cathepsin D or cathepsin E is introduced as a protein or a gene into the tumor cell. Thereby, enhancement of angiostatin production ability of cathepsin D and endostatin production ability of cathepsin E is induced and growth proliferation and metastasis of the tumor cell can be suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
