PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for diagnosing deterioration of an insulation object resulting from a secular change, by supplying a frequency-varied signal from a variable frequency electric power source to the insulation object to measure an impedance of the insulation object in a frequency therein, and by finding an internal resistance and capacitance of the insulation object, in the insulation object under an operation condition.;SOLUTION: A high-frequency current is applied from the variable frequency electric power source to the insulation object under the operation condition, via capacitors C1, C2 for electric resonance and for blocking a direct current. The impedance of the insulation object in response to the applied frequency is measured by measuring voltages in both ends of the insulation object and the current supplied to the insulation object. The resistance and capacitance in an inside of the insulation object are found to diagnose the deterioration, based on the impedance or an attenuation rate in the measured frequency, and an extreme value of a phase curve therein.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
