PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for DC-casting an aluminum alloy deformed billet having a plurality of arm shapes of Y-shape, X-shape or extending radial and optional direction in the cross sectional plane without developing the crack of the billet and the leakage of the metal caused by clinging at the casting.;SOLUTION: When the aluminum alloy deformed billet having the plurality of arm-shapes of Y-shape, X-shape or extending radial and optional direction in the cross sectional plane, is DC-cast, the billet cross sectional shape is divided into the plurality of arm parts and central parts, and respective outer peripheral lengths and cross sectional areas are obtained, and in the arm parts, portion n, at which secondary cooling water is not sprayed, is arranged. The ratio of the outer peripheral length on a portion, at which secondary cooling water is sprayed, in the arm part and the cross sectional area in the arm part, is made to 0.8-1.2 times of the ratio of the outer peripheral length at the central part, at which the secondary cooling water is sprayed, and the cross sectional area at the central part, and the secondary cooling water 13 is spouted and the uniform solidification in the whole periphery is performed when seeing the whole billet from the cross sectional direction by weakly cooling the arm part having small cross sectional area and intensively cooling the center part having large cross sectional area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
