PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an assist map considering the rate of change of the steering reaction force.;SOLUTION: In an assist map design method, the characteristic to generate the assist torque T_a corresponding to the steering torque T_h by an electric motor (6) is stored. The assist map design method includes a step of determining the assist map by adjusting tuning parameters a, b in the formula 1.
