PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scan converting circuit of a liquid crystal projector with a picture and calligraphy camera free of a "mixed up picture". PSOLUTION: This liquid crystal projector has a scan converting circuit composed of a scan conversion part 14, a write control signal generation part 18, and a readout control signal generation part 19, and a signal on which a write/readout switching signal generated from a write-side synchronizing signal is based is latched with a readout-side synchronizing signal to switch a double buffer memory between writing and reading in synchronism with the readout-side synchronizing signal.
