PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize direct extraction of a clock or transmitting/receiving of a timing marker in a physical layer and a data link layer.;SOLUTION: A frequency synchronizing system includes a means for extracting the clock from a received signal; and a means for turning off a hold-over control signal during receiving of a frame when the transmitting originator address of the received frame coincides with the address of a master station, and for turning on the hold-over control signal except the above case. The frequency of a reference oscillator in a slave station synchronizes with the extracted clock signal when the hold-over control signal becomes off.
