PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, etc., for testing cancer in order to evaluate the carcinogenicity of chemical substances as accurately and simply as possible.;SOLUTION: The method for testing a neoplastic lesion or a preneoplastic lesion of the liver in a mammal except humans is provided. The method comprises (1) a first step of measuring the expression level of a gene of a carbonic anhydrase enzyme II in a specimen and (2) a second step of comparing the measured value of the expression level of the gene in the specimen obtained in the first step with the control value of the expression level of the gene and evaluating the presence or absence of the neoplastic lesion or preneoplastic lesion of the liver or the degree of development thereof in the specimen based on the difference.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
