PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the cold increased amount of a fuel in starting an internal combustion engine under extremely low temperature environment. PSOLUTION: This internal combustion engine 100 comprises an electric assisted turbo 50 pressurizing and supplying air and an intake valve 2 enabling a change in at least the lift amount thereof. Under the extremely low temperature environment, the lift amount of the intake valve 2 is set lower than that in the normal operation of the internal combustion engine 100 and the air pressurized by the electric assisted servo 50 is supplied thereto before starting is performed.
