PAPER TURNOVER DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper turnover device reduced in size and enabling the orderly arrangement of the top and bottom of print images on both surfaces of paper without requiring a switchback device.;SOLUTION: This paper turnover device 10 comprises the moving device 30 for paper P. The moving device 30 is formed in such a manner that a pinion 33 rotated by a motor 34 is engaged with a rack 32 fixed to the bottom surface of a paper abutting plate 31 in a direction perpendicular to a paper carrying direction and the paper abutting plate 31 is moved to a rear side. When the paper abutting plate 31 is moved, its abutting part 31b comes into contact with the paper P, the paper P is moved to the rear side, and a turnover roller 40 rotating about an axis in the paper carrying direction is installed at the destination of the paper P. A curved guide plate 43 is installed around the turnover roller 40 along the outer periphery thereof, and the paper P rotated by the turnover roller 40 about an axis in the paper carrying direction is returned to the same position as before the start of the turnover operation in the turned over state of the paper upside down.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
