PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise purchase advising system, an information providing apparatus and a program that can advise a customer who has purchased merchandise on merchandise purchase depending on the customer.;SOLUTION: When a customer purchases an article of merchandise, a store terminal 122 sends a customer ID and a merchandise ID of the purchased merchandise to a center server 11. The center server 11 uses attribute data included in customer data corresponding to the received customer ID to calculate customer compatibility scores showing compatibility between customer-unpurchased merchandise and the customer. The center server 11 also uses attribute data included in merchandise data corresponding to the received merchandise ID to calculate merchandise compatibility scores showing compatibility between customer-unpurchased merchandise and the customer-purchased merchandise.
