PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder made of an alloy of copper with silver showing superior characteristics, as the powder of a copper alloy for an electroconductive paste superior in oxidation resistance. PSOLUTION: The copper alloy powder superior in oxidation resistance for the electroconductive paste contains copper as a main component and 0.1 to 30 atom% silver, and has a particle diameter of 0.1 to 2 m by average. The silver is segregated in the vicinity of the surface of the particle. The method for producing the powder comprises charging copper chlorides 21 and silver chlorides or silver 22 into a reaction vessel 11; supplying a carrier gas 13 and a reducing gas 12 into the vessel, while maintaining the vessel to a high-temperature atmosphere; and chemically gas-phase-reacting them in an area 15 for producing the alloy powder.
