PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paper having high bulkiness without lowering the durability of the paper.;SOLUTION: Paper is produced by adding a crosslinked and cationized starch or a crosslinked amphoteric starch, preferably a crosslinked and cationized starch or a crosslinked amphoteric starch crosslinked with epichlorohydrin and cationized with a tertiary amino group and/or a quaternary ammonium ether group and making the paper having an ash content of ≥5 wt.%.
