CLEANING AGENT FOR HEAT-EXCHANGER AND CLEANING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning agent for heat-exchangers to easily remove a silica-containing scale and provide a cleaning method using the agent.;SOLUTION: The cleaning agent for a heat-exchanger is composed of an acid solution containing an organic acid or its salt and an alkali solution containing potassium hydroxide and/or sodium hydroxide and is used for the cleaning of a heat-exchanger having a silica-containing scale deposited on the surface. The silica-containing scale is swollen or peeled off by the acid solution of the cleaning agent and the scale is dissolved and removed with the alkali solution. Preferably, the acid solution contains a cleaning property improving agent having chelating action and scale dispersing action, and the alkali solution contains a suspension agent having chelating action and scale dispersing action.
