PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a colored microparticle dispersion having excellent dispersion (retention) stability of colored microparticles, good ink jetting properties and even excellent light fastness and glossiness of an image when used in inkjet recording and to provide water-based ink comprising the colored microparticles.;SOLUTION: The method for purifying the colored microparticle dispersion in which the colored microparticles having a colorant and a resin are dispersed in an aqueous medium is characterized as follows. The colored microparticles containing an organic solvent are emulsified and dispersed in the aqueous medium with an ionic surfactant and the organic solvent is removed. A purification treatment is then carried out with at least one kind of treatment selected from a treatment with an adsorbent and a treatment with an ultrafiltration membrane.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
