PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and a method for measuring an electrical resistance of an electrically-conductive material.;SOLUTION: This instrument includes a housing 202, and the first, second, third and fourth conductive members 214 A, B projecting outwardly from the housing. The conductive members are engageable with an electrically-conductive material at a plurality of points distributed along a measurement axis. In an alternate embodiment, at least some of the conductive member include a spring-loaded portion such that contact portion 218A, B of the conductive members projects outwardly from the housing by a variable distance. In operation, the electrical resistance of the electrically conductive member is determinable from a known current supplied between the first conductive member and the fourth conductive member, and a voltage measured between the second conductive member and the third conductive member.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
