MERCHANDISE DEMAND PREDICTING SYSTEM AND SAME SYSTEM AT BEGINNING/END OF YEAR

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of the demand prediction of merchandise the unit sales of which increases at the end of the year and sharply decreases at the beginning of the year. PSOLUTION: This demand predicting system 100 includes an adjusted sales DB 18 stored with information showing the unit sales for each merchandise in the past, a year-beginning/end processing part 110 for performing year-beginning/end processing and a predicted value calculating part 150 for a plurality of merchandise. The year-beginning/end processing part 110 compares the first unit sales in the first period with the second unit sales in the second period, and extracts merchandise the first unit sales of which is larger or smaller than the second unit sales, and calculates trend coefficients showing the level of the increase/decrease of the unit sales in the first period of the extracted merchandise based on the information showing the unit sales of the extracted merchandise stored in an adjusted sales DB 18 for each merchandise. A predicted value calculating part 150 predicts the unit sales for each merchandise in the future in the first period by using the trend coefficients. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
