SYSTEM FOR PREDICTING DEMAND OF MERCHANDISE AND SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING NUMBER OF MERCHANDISE SOLD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the demand of merchandise under the consideration of the fluctuation of sales due to various fluctuating factors from the sales results of the merchandise without know-how.;SOLUTION: This demand predicting system 1 calculates coefficients showing the level of the contribution of the fluctuating factors of the sales volume such as a selling price, weather and the presence/absence of sales promotion to the increase/decrease of the sales volume based on the actual data of the sales volume stored in a sales DB 5. Also, the adjusted sales volume is calculated by removing influence due to the fluctuating factors from the sales volume by using the coefficients. Then, a demand predicted value in the future is calculated by using the adjusted sales volume and the coefficients.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
