PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase thermal efficiency by recovering exhaust heat even after a water temperature in a hot water storage tank becomes high.;SOLUTION: When a general hot water faucet 12 is opened to deliver hot water, cold water equal in amount to the hot water delivery is supplied to the hot water storage tank 2 via a water feed line 11. In the process, if a first on-off valve 15 is opened and a second on-off valve 16 is closed, the cold water is heated in a heat exchanger 9 via a preheated water feed line 14 before supplied to the hot water storage tank 2. Even when the temperature in the hot water storage tank 2 becomes high (60°C) to disable exhaust heat recovery, a hot water delivery allows the water feed to the hot water storage tank 2 to recover exhaust heat. The low temperature that the water feed continuously has enables efficient heat recovery. The thermal efficiency of the entire system is thus increased.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
