PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately set a proper driving voltage value for each ink-jet printer head in the product outgoing inspection of the ink-jet printer head which is performed using an inspection ink which can simultaneously examine discharge performance and image performance and can easily be cleaned after the inspection. PSOLUTION: A low voltage V1 and a high voltage V2 are applied to an electrode provided on a surface of a side wall of an ink chamber formed by a piezoelectric member to discharge the inspection ink to measure respective discharge volumes. The respective discharge volumes are corrected in response to temperatures at the time of measurement to determine temperature-corrected discharge volumes (Vol×L, Vol×H). A target driving voltage value Vr for obtaining a target discharge volume is calculated based on voltage values of the low voltage and high voltage and the temperature-corrected discharge volumes. A correction voltage value for each lot of the inspection ink is added to the calculated target driving voltage value Vr to calculate the proper driving voltage value. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
