PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an effective and reliable monitoring and recording which improves the photographing resolution and the identification effect of a moving target.;SOLUTION: A self-sustained monitoring system comprises a first image catch device for continuously catching wide-angle image signals in a covered range, a processor for continuously comparing the wide-angle image signal at a first time with that at its previous time to set so that a difference point is taken as a moving target, if a difference appears, a second image catch device controlled by the processor for catching expanded image signals each set to be a moving target at the first time, and a recording device connected to the above devices for continuously recording the wide-angle image signals and the expanded image signals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
