PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal coating method for a graphite disk or a graphite block whereby good material separation between a graphite disk or a graphite block material and a high-metal-content layer material is guaranteed by removing the boundary layer between a graphite layer and a high-metal-content layer, whereby the high-metal-content layer adheres to the graphite layer surely, and whereby the environmental load in conducting the preparation method is kept low.;SOLUTION: The metal coating of a graphite disk or a graphite block, especially of an electro-mechanical carbon brush, especially with at least one metal selected from the group consisting of copper and tin is performed so that the high-metal-content layer is surely bonded to the graphite disk without damaging the environment.
