PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering heavy metals like iron or arsenic in acidic waste water and neutralized precipitate formed by neutralization not as waste but valuable resources, and at the same time, treating the acidic waste water.;SOLUTION: Acidic waste water 52 containing arsenic, sulfuric acid and iron is controlled to a prescribed range of pH value and subjected to oxidation treatment to synthesize schwertmannite, arsenic is adsorbed on it to recover as the resources 50 of iron ore containing arsenic. Further, arsenic, iron and a part of sulfuric acid are removed. Then, calcium-containing waste material from construction work represented by waste concrete is added as a neutralization agent 56 to the discharged acidic waste water 55 containing sulfuric acid. The neutralized precipitate thus obtained is recovered as resources 51 represented by aggregate as a substitute for sand, or building material, sulfuric acid in the acidic waste water 55 is removed, and the waste water is discharged as cleaned water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
