PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a journal merge control system, a journal merge control method and a storage medium to reduce the case that image journals are left as a state that it can not be used to recover data, by forcibly switching journal files only when data update image journals are stored to some degree and making them into merge object.;SOLUTION: The journal merge control system is provided with a journal file control means 43 to request switch of the journal files when time difference over a reference value exists in each key date and time of the journal files notified from each computer when the journal file of a journal medium 3 is filled, a file switching means 12 to switch the journal file in which journal information is written to the next journal file and a merge means 2 to perform a merge processing by comparing each key date and time in the journal information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
