HYPOTENSIVE AGENT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND PROPOLIS COMPOSITION AND FOOD FORMULATION

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hypotensive agent exhibiting excellent hypotensive actions and to provide a method for producing the same and to obtain a propolis composition and a food formulation. PSOLUTION: The hypotensive agent and the food formulation comprise at least one kind selected from compounds represented by formula (1) (wherein, X is hydrogen, an alkoxyl group, hydroxy group, a caffeoyloxy group or a p-coumaroxy group, with the proviso that the carbon number of the alkoxyl group is 1-3). The method for producing the hypotensive agent comprises an extraction step, a separation step and a collection step. In the extraction step, polyphenols are extracted from a polyphenol-containing material and the resultant component is separated in the separation step. In the collection step, at least the one kind selected from the compounds represented by formula (1) is collected using fluorescence from excitation light in an ultraviolet region as an index.
