PROPOLIS EXTRACT, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, HYPOTENSIVE AGENT CONTAINING THE SAME, FOOD PREPARATION AND PROPOLIS COMPOSITION

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a propolis extract exhibiting excellent hypotensive effect on hypertension, to provide a method for readily producing the propolis extract, to obtain an excellent hypotensive agent and food preparation containing the propolis extract and a propolis composition containing the propolis extract with ethanol. PSOLUTION: The propolis extract contains 3 wt.% content of organic acids, 5 wt.% content of saccharides and 5 wt.% content of peptides or proteins. The method for producing the propolis extract comprises mixing a propolis raw material with water at 1-10C, supplying the extract with water to a carrier for separation such as Diaion or a resin and eluting the extract with water or an aqueous solution of a lower alcohol. The hypotensive agent and the food preparation comprise the propolis extract and the propolis composition comprises the propolis extract and the extract of propolis with ethanol.
