PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label affixing device which can efficiently fulfill a desirable quality.;SOLUTION: A label affixing head 30 has a printing unit and an applicator base assembling component which prints a label 60 to attach it onto a combination 14 of members. The printing unit is indispensable for the head 30, and the unit prints each label before the label 60 is attached to the combination 14. The applicator base assembling component moves the printed label 60 onto the combination 14. The head 30 is used together with a cutter 50 or a spreader 54, or as a stand alone unit. While a cutter head 26 is cutting off a piece, the head 30 prints the labels 60. If the piece 16 is cut off, the head 30 attaches a prepared label 60 onto the cut piece 16. The head 30 has a sensor for combined height and the label 60 can be affixed to the combination 14 having various height.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
