PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible correction due to gain controlling means by producing correction reference gas by an oxygen pump when output relationship of each bias gain control means corresponding to three oxygen density battery becomes a specified value and measuring excitation power of each density battery by switching a measured gas side with this gas and atmospheric air. ;SOLUTION: When an error quantity e=HV3-HV1-HV2 reaches a specified value, automatic correction of output voltages HV1, HV2, and HV3 of bias gain controlling means corresponding to oxygen density batteries 5, 6, and 7 respectively is started. The measured gas side is exposed to atmospheric air, and excitation force of the density batteries 5, 7, and 9 are sequentially measured among states in which a specified potential quantity is injected after stopping current control of an oxygen pump 11, in which an oxygen pressure division of a reference chamber 3 is a specified value through current control after stopping potential quantity injection to the oxygen pump 11, and in which the measured gas side is exposed to the measured gas. From this measurement result, each generated excitation power coefficient and each offset voltage are obtained, and the corresponding bias gain controlling means is controlled.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
