PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling aquatic organisms at a low cost without affecting the environment of a water area, and to provide a method for judging the adhesion state of the aquatic organisms. ;SOLUTION: This method for controlling aquatic organisms comprises generating intermitted sounds of ≤200 Hz in water to induce the growth inhibition and/or avoidance behaviors of the aquatic organisms. It is preferable to generate the intermitted sounds in a water flow pipe. It is especially preferable that the pressure and frequency of the sounds are ≥170 dB and about 30-120 sec/ time, respectively. The intermitted sounds are generated by an arc discharge method. The judgment of an adhesion state is carried out by measuring the pressures of the sounds at constantly separated sites in the longitudinal direction of a water flow pipe with the lapse of time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
