PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve more easily the problems of decrease in the quantity of incident light, when a short-distance measurement is taken by a light wave range finder, decrease in distance measurement precision accompanying it, and increase in the shortest measurable distance, without spoiling the measuring performance at the longest measured distance.;SOLUTION: This surveying machine is equipped with the light wave range finder, having a light transmission system which sends distance measurement light through a reflecting member positioned behind the objective of a distance measuring optical system for measuring the distance to an object to be measured and a light reception system receiving reflected light, which is not eclipsed by the reflecting member as to the reflected light from the object to be measured; and the light-receiving system is provided with light guide optical systems, on which the distance measurement light reflected light is made incident selectively, according to the distance to the object to be measured.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
