Embodiments of the invention relate to systems and methods for controlling data transfer. In one embodiment, a method for controlling data transfer comprises receiving a data transfer request from an external device; and writing data transfer information based on the data transfer request into a local memory by a processor. The data transfer information includes information indicating a storage position in a buffer memory and information indicating a storage position in a cache memory. The method further comprises reading the data transfer information from the local memory by a data transfer control processor which is connected with the processor via a bus; and transferring the data stored in one of the buffer memory and the cache memory into the other one of the buffer memory and the cache memory, according to the data transfer information, by the data transfer control processor.
