Vaccine for Early Protection of susceptible Animals against FMDV by expression of IFN Alpha Or Beta. The Vaccine comprises a composition having the building or construction and the Vector containing a physiologically acceptable Carrier, such as Phosphate Buffered Saline, Physiological saline or culture Medium.The building also contains sequences which encode IFN Alpha Or Beta, or a combination thereof. Sequences which encode a proper FMDV Antigen are also included in the building for a desirable co Administration of both IFN and FMDV antigens or as a separate Construction.Claim 7: a Vector according to claim 5 wherein the Vector comprises a viral gene transfer vector. Claim 23: a method to protect Animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease comprising inoculation of those animals with an effective dose of the vaccine of any of Claims 15 - 22.
