The method of producing painting canvas consists in stretching the canvas on frames, processing the canvas on different technological stands, shifting the frames between work positions and taking the ready canvass off frames. It is characterised in that frames are hung on a guide, positioned over technological operation stands, and shifted with small frictional resistance to the operation zones of technological stands. When frames stay at a stand, the system maintains the distance between frames of at least 1.5-0.8 meter, or of at least 0.3-0.2 meter. Each frame is hung at the height, which ensures easy access of an employee standing upright to its entire surface. 2. A frame for producing painting canvas is rectangular in shape, with the sides made of metal sections. It is also equipped with grips of the processed material and a stretcher of the processed material. It is characterised in that the frame is positioned in vertical plane. It is made of two opposite C-shaped frame components (1) and two connecting bars (2), telescopically coupled with the shorter parts (3) of the frame components, which form the shorter sides (4, 5) together with the connecting bars (2).
