Painting canvas securing machine - has frame support and jaws holding canvas under tension while head secures canvas to frame

The machine for securing a canvas to a wooden frame, for painting, has a block (9) which supports a member of the frame horizontally. A pair of jaws (15) holds the canvas in tension behind the frame while a head (2) inserts a fastener through the canvas into the outside edge of the member. The jaws, which have curved edges when viewed in plan, are mounted at the top of an arm (16) which is tilted about a horizontal axis (20), connected at the bottom to an actuator cylinder (17). The fastening head is also operated by an actuator cylinder (6) anchored to the machine frame above the other cylinder. Tension in the canvas is controlled by the movement of the jaws which are synchronised with the movement of the fastening head.
