METHOD FOR ASSESSING GAME ROLE IN WATER POLO

A method for assessing the game role in the water polo consists of the estimation of the physical performance of water polo player, especially his swimming and technical performance followed by scoring the results of the tests. The general physical performance is assessed by the length of the arm. The special swimming performance is assessed by recording the time required for swimming on the back the distance of 10 m. The technical performance is assessed by the precision of throwing the ball from the standing and moving positions. The results obtained are compared with those for the qualified water polo players. The points are then summed. When the sum is in the range of 8-16 points, the sportsman tested is the central forward. When the sum is in the range of 16.1-20.4 points, the sportsmen tested is the halfback. When the sum exceeds 20.5, the sportsman tested is the full-back.
