The method for assessing the gaming role of water polo player comprises the measurement of the parameters characterizing the physical development of the player, the swimming abilities, and the technical skills using the special tests. The values obtained are used for the calculations according to the formula for assessing the parameters for each gaming role of water polo player with the final assessment of the priorities of the predominant values.
