Nucleic acid sequence comprising the encapsidation signal of the rna of a group 1 coronavirus and its applications. The nucleic acid sequence comprises the RNA encapsidation signal of a group 1 coronavirus, such as the transmissible swine gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), located between nucleotides 100 and 649 of the genome of said coronavirus. Said sequence can be used to construct viral vectors useful in basic and applied research, for example, in the development of expression systems of products of interest, vaccine vectors and gene therapy.
