Nickel is molten and evaporated within a crucibleplaced within a plasma reactor, so as to yield a nickelpowder. At least a part or the whole of a surface layerof the crucible in contact with nickel is covered witha coating layer. For the coating layer, a material madeof an ingredient employed in an electronic componentusing the nickel powder in an electrode or a materialmainly composed of this ingredient is used.Alternatively, the whole crucible is constituted by amaterial made of an ingredient employed in anelectronic component using the nickel powder in anelectrode or a material mainly composed of thisingredient.
