A power line communication device performs communication by superimposing a high-frequency signal on two power lines of the three-phase power lines. When a plurality of power line communication devices are connected on the three-phase power lines for communication between the devices, it is possible to improve the communication reliability. A power line communication device (1100) includes a communication modem (100) for performing communication by superimposing a high-frequency signal on two power lines of the three-phase power lines (10, 11, 12). The power line communication device (1100) further includes: means for successively connecting the communication modem (100) to the three-phase power lines (10, 11, 12) under a plurality of circuit connection conditions for connecting the communication modem (100) to the three-phase power lines (10, 11, 12); means for performing communication at least twice in each connection condition; and means for setting a connection in two power lines of the three-phase power lines (10, 11, 12) under the circuit connection condition in which the number of reception detections is the greatest.
