Disclosed is a reservoir for spreadable material, which is used for dispersing spreadable material onto a distributing belt conveyor so as to form mats of spread material and comprises light barriers for measuring the filling level of the reservoir. Said light barriers are arranged along the reservoir between filling levels that extend between a lower and an upper threshold value as well as in slopes of the respective filling levels, which are predefined by the respective spreadable material, so as to form a light barrier grid among themselves, allowing to detect also inclined positions of the filling level in the sloped area.
