The basin (10) has a continuous flat bottom (16) and contains one or more module(s) (20) for microbiological water treatment, comprising a submerged fixed bed reactor (24) and a gasification unit (26) arranged thereunder. The modules are pre-assembled outside the fish basin. They may be installed in the basin (10) and divide compartments (22) therein, in which the fish stock is divided. The basin (10) is of such a form that it may be equipped with a variable number of modules (20).
