Microorganism monitoring for the based on PCR in the system of biological wastewater treatment. The expression of effector is measured by competitive quantitative RT-PCR, and the abundance of indicator is measured by competitive quantitative PCR. The indicator and effector can be same or different gene. In one embodiment, the indicator and effector are the sequence from glyphosate oxidoreductase (gox) gene, and the quantitative technique has used competitive quantitative PCR and competitive quantitative RT-PCR.
