The method involves producing projection images of a body, producing corresponding model projection images from generic model of body, entering projection images and generic model into a processor, adapting the generic model to the body by adapting shape and if necessary position of generic model, whereby assessing agreement takes place in the two-dimensional plane, and determining the three-dimensional shape from the adapted model. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) an arrangement for determining a three-dimensional body shape, especially an anatomic structure, from two-dimensional projection images.
