The present invention relates to a method for estimating or predicting anti-tumor activity of a compound and for estimating or predicting the tumor growth in mammals; the estimation comprises a) measuring the tumor weight in time; b) measuring the concentration of the compound in time; c) calculating kinetic parameters of the tumor growth: -a parameter (LSUB0/SUB), representative of the portion of tumor cells present at the instant tSUB0/SUB=0 that succeeds in taking root and in starting tumor cells proliferation in the mammals; -an index (lambdaSUB0/SUB) of the production rate of tumor cells during an exponential phase of tumor growth; -an index (lambdaSUB1/SUB) of tumor cells mass produced in the time unit during a linear phase of the tumor growth; and pharmacodynamic parameters: -an index (KSUB1/SUB) of tumor cells death rate; -an index (KSUB2/SUB) of the potency of the compound; and d) calculating tumor growth curves.
