METHOD FOR PREPARING LITHIUM-COBALT-MANGANESE BASED OXIDES FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY TO PROVIDE STABLE STRUCTURE AND EXCELLENT DISCHARGE CAPACITY IN RESULTED OXIDE, THROUGH A SIMPLIFIED AND ECONOMIC PROCESS
PURPOSE: A method for preparing lithium-cobalt-manganese based oxides for a lithium secondary battery is provided to improve the structure stability and electrochemical properties including discharge capacity of the resulted oxides through a simplified and economic process using a combustion process. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing lithium-cobalt-manganese based oxides comprises: preparing an aqueous solution of salts of lithium, cobalt and manganese (10); heating the aqueous solution to form a gel (20); combusting the gel to form powdered oxides (30); treating the powdered oxides with heat to form a powder of Li£CoxLi(1/3-X/3)Mn(2/3-2x/3)|O2, wherein 0.05x0.9, having a layered structure. The combustion of the gel is carried out under a temperature range of 400-500deg.C. The heat treatment of the powdered oxides comprises: a first heat treatment step (40) at a temperature selected from the range of 400-500deg.C, and a second heat treatment step (70) at a temperature higher than the temperature of the first heat treatment step, which is selected from the range of 700-1000deg.C.
