APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING AN INPUT CVBS IN AN LCD TV TO IMPROVE THE VERTICAL/HORIZONTAL RESOLUTION OF LCD PANEL

PURPOSE: An apparatus for separating an input CVBS(Composite Video Baseband Signal) in an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) TV is provided to improve the vertical/horizontal resolution of an LCD panel by separating a luminance signal component and a color signal component of the CVBS outputted from an analog tuner, filtering the luminance signal component and the color signal component, and providing the luminance signal component and the color signal component to a video decoder of the LCD TV. CONSTITUTION: A luminance signal separating unit(51) removes a DC component of a CVBS outputted from an analog tuner, and cuts off the CVBS as a specific frequency band. The luminance signal separating unit removes a color signal component and a noise component included in the CVBS, and inputs a generated luminance signal to an RF(Radio Frequency) input terminal(11) connected to a video decoder of an LCD TV. A color signal separating unit(52) removes a DC component of a CVBS outputted from the analog tuner, amplifies a current component of the CVBS at a uniform level, and cuts a luminance signal in -500KHz portion and +500KHz portion of a central color carrier(fsc) of the amplified video signal. The color signal separating unit removes a residual color signal component corresponding to +500KHz portion or more of the central color carrier, and inputs a generated color signal to the RF input terminal.
