PURPOSE: A device for processing electromagnetic waves of a mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to reduce the amount of electromagnetic waves increased due to large transmitting power in the case that a terminal user is in a shadow area or is distant from a base station. CONSTITUTION: A transmission power level detector(420) detects a transmission power level of an RF(Radio Frequency) transmitter(450) changing according to power received by an RF receiver of a mobile communication terminal, and then transmits the detected transmission power level to a microprocessor(410). A call quality detector(470) detects a call quality state of the mobile communication terminal changing according to the detected transmitting power level, and then outputs the detected call quality state to the microprocessor(410). An SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) processor(480) processes an SAR value changing according to the detected transmitting power level, and then outputs the processed SAR value to the microprocessor(410).
