PURPOSE: A device for controlling an electromagnetic wave of a mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to sense a position/angle of a user terminal by using a gyroscope sensor and a stepping motor of the user terminal, and to automatically control an opening/closing angle and a rotational angle of a folder as well as an antenna angle in a position where harmful electromagnetic waves are very few, thereby minimizing an electromagnetic wave exposure. CONSTITUTION: A position/angle sensor(370) senses a position and an angle of a mobile communication terminal by being randomly installed on a terminal body. A position/angle processor(375) calculates an SAR value corresponding to the position/angle inputted from the position/angle sensor(370) in reference to an SAR value DB(380). A stepping motor driver(376) drives a folder and an antenna of the mobile communication terminal under control of the position/angle processor(375), and controls an opening/closing angle and a rotational angle.
